We're Not an Event App. We're Not a Chat App.

We're Not an Event App. We're Not a Chat App.

We're Not an Event App. We're Not a Chat App.

Every new category gets misfiled at first. People reach for the nearest familiar box — "oh, is it an event app" or "so, a better WhatsApp?" — because that's the fastest way to make sense of something new. It's a reasonable instinct. It's also the wrong box for Fragment Business.
So here's the plain version of what we are, and just as importantly, what we're not.

What We're Not

We're not a WhatsApp replacement. WhatsApp is a messaging app that a lot of organizers have bent into service as a scheduling tool — badly. We do replace the habit of running a batch through a group chat, but we're not "WhatsApp with better UI." We're not trying to be where people talk. We're trying to be where the schedule actually lives.
We're not a event app competitor. Event apps is a beautiful, well-built tool for a real category: one-off events with public discovery — meetups, launches, webinars. Its core unit is an event. Ours is a recurring relationship — the same group, meeting again and again. Comparing us on event-page design is comparing us on the wrong axis entirely.
We're not a social feed. Instagram and Facebook groups are excellent at reach and terrible at operations. A post expires the moment the algorithm moves on. We're not trying to help you get discovered — we're what you switch to once someone's already found you and needs to show up reliably, every week, for months.

What We Actually Are

We're the operating system for recurring groups.
If you strip away every feature, that's the one sentence that's true: Fragment Business is built for anyone running the same people through the same sessions, on repeat — coaches, academy owners, studio managers, sports clubs, schools, and corporate teams.
That single distinction — recurring, not one-off — changes everything about how the product is built:
  • The schedule doesn't expire. One live calendar per batch, always current, instead of a fresh post or message every week.
  • The roster is a first-class object. We don't just track an event's attendee list — we track an ongoing group of people, their confirmations, and their history with you.
  • Access is controlled, not open. Like Shopify's admin permissions, you decide exactly who can view, join, or post — instead of an open group anyone can flood.
  • Updates attach to the session, not the inbox. A reschedule or a new prep document lives inside the event it belongs to, and syncs automatically to everyone already following it.
None of that matters if you're planning a single meetup. All of it matters if you're running the same badminton batch every Saturday for the next two years.

The One-Line Version

If you only remember one thing: Fragment is Recurring Ops for Groups.
Not an event page. Not a group chat. Not a social feed. The system underneath the parts of your week that repeat — so you stop rebuilding the same schedule, chasing the same confirmations, and re-explaining the same update, week after week.
